Find out all about this event HERE. Starring at this year's Saucy Solstice: Desert Island Castaway are:
Brand new to PP Events, Quintilla Madora is just one of Canadian burlesque artist Kendell Heydon's many alter egos– although arguably the most fabulous! Like a fey Clark Kent, Kendell steps into the boudoir and with just a swish of the makeup brush (as well as a considerable amount of blue language and enough rum to blind a pirate) is transformed into the exquisite creature that is Quintilla.
Ecdysiast, dominatrix, and all-around femme fatale, Quintilla is truly a lady of many talents. Serving up classic and neo burlesque with an androgynous twist, this gender-blender extraordinaire is sure to delight.
Back for another spectacular show, we're have Mademoiselle Papillon coming back to give you all another dose of her sensational style!
A performer, model and teacher, she thinks dance 24/7 and can be found at her sassy studio The Masked Boudoir! This rapidly rising star has been performing all over the UK from Bedford to Blackpool to drive her dream of becoming one of the best in Burlesque!
Whether you’re a fan of traditional burlesque, the cheeky, the sexy or the tropical, Mademoiselle Papillon is bound to suit. Find out more about her and her classes here and come along on the 22nd of June.
Robyn is an exceptionally talented and experienced dancer whose performances include Gothla Italy, Majma, Carpe Somnium and Weird Tales.
She is the Director of BlackPeacock Bellydance and has studied with many international fusion dancers, including Morgana of the excalibur dance company and Ariellah. She trains regularly with the UK's own Dawn O'Brien. Robyn has also studied with Kajira Djoumahna of BlackSheep BellyDance and is a level 3 certified teacher in the format.
Robyn's classes are open to beginners with regular new starters so if you'd love to try Bellydance, check out her classes on her website here.
Luna Diosa is often described as a Jeykl-and-Hyde of Burlesque, this sassy dancer gives a character-driven performance, often inspired by ‘Old School’ Burlesque, and loves to throw a twist into the tale.
Bringing along her background in drama and singing, Luna studied Burlesque at the Secrets of Boudoir studio with Deadly Nightshade and Cherry DuBois before making her debut at India Starr’s Cabaret Nouveau. Since then she’s performed in many shows including Embraced Burlesque, Red Light Burlesque, The Candlelit Cellar and PP Events own Cabaret From Outer Space!
Cast away on our desert island at the Saucy Solstice this year we have Angelic Whispers! This star has graced many stages over the last four years through burlesque, bellydance and musical theatre!
Taking her inspiration from music, film, art and dance, this cultured performer embraces many styles from the dramatic grace of her well-known ‘Roxanne’ performance to more quirky routines. (Attendees of our last show may remember Schrodinger's Cat...)
Angelic Whispers has performed for Show Me Events, Bijoux Burlesque, I’m Not From London, Black Cherry Burlesque and at PP Events' own Cabaret from Outer Space!
So pack your sunglasses and sandals and head down to the Canalhouse on June 22nd to see this dramatic dancer perform live!
Throwing in her lot with our castaways this summer is Sophie! With more than five years bellydance experience under her (jingly) belt, this beautiful performer has recently dipped her toe into world of solo performing and we’re pleased to say that she's washed up on our island!
Trained in both Egyptian and Blacksheep styles as well as in contemporary dance, Sophie is a multi-talented performer who’s trained with Bridie Przibram of Black Veil Tribal and Robyn of Black Peacock Bellydance. She draws inspiration from her years of dancing and from her favourite tribal bellydance performers, such as Ariellah and Zoe Jakes.
Often dramatic, frequently surprising and always a delight to watch, Sophie will be joining PP Events’ team on their island adventures so be sure to show up to the Saucy Solstice to catch her in action!
Dead Girls Don't Say No
Pagan Pride are thrilled to welcome back our in-house professional nutters, Dead Girls Don't Say No!
Dr Swiftenstein, Candy Bloodbags and Cynthia Borg are back with more Bellydance and Burlesque-infused antics as Dr S continues to search for his perfect woman. Will our Desert Island harbour the love he seeks? Or will he end up in hot water?
This wildly creative trio came together in 2012 when they decided to push the boundaries of their ‘mutual weirdness’. Dead Girls Don’t Say No quickly went from treading the line between genius and insanity to playing hopscotch over it. Their fantastic bellydancing skills, flair for performance and hilarious storytelling techniques have had our audience in stitches and awe at every show since.
Put the date in your diary and get down to the Canalhouse on the 22nd of June for Saucy Solstice: Desert Island Castaway to see Dead Girls Don’t Say No in action!
And your host...
Providing LIVE music for the occasion we have Esme! An experienced Gothic-Folk Singer-Songwriter and working rock-star who's performed at events such as Rock and Bike Fest and Rock Metal Circus! Check out her sound here.
